Gideon's CustomFirm Setting
Take Control of Your Trading
The CustomFirm setting acts as Gideon’s "manual override" or "blank canvas" mode. It completely detaches the engine from the hardcoded prop firm evaluation math (such as Apex or TakeProfitTrader's predefined $50K or $150K tier rules) and hands total structural control back to the user.
Here is exactly how the logic routes when a user selects CustomFirm in the dropdown:
- Bypasses All Tier Presets: Gideon instantly ignores whatever account size tier (e.g., Tier100K) is selected in the UI. It stops assuming a $6,000 profit target or a $3,000 drawdown limit.
- Activates Manual Inputs: The engine reroutes its kill switches to rely exclusively on the user's manual numeric inputs. The bot will now lock down based only on the Custom Daily Profit Target ($) and Custom Daily Loss Target ($) fields.
- Shifts the Risk Basis (Crucial for PercentRisk): In standard Evaluation mode, Gideon calculates your
PercentRisksizing against a simulated trailing drawdown buffer (e.g., risking 2% of $3,000). When switched to CustomFirm, Gideon calculates your risk percentage against your actual live Total Account Equity, dynamically scaling up as your account balance grows.
- Establishes a Custom Ceiling: The Custom Position Size (Qty) field becomes the absolute hard stop for contract scaling. If
PercentRiskmath suggests taking 6 contracts based on the stop distance, but the Custom Qty is set to 3, Gideon will securely clamp the order at 3 contracts. If the user is running a static profile likeFiveDayPace, Gideon will simply trade the exact flat quantity entered in that custom box.
Ideal Use Cases for the CustomFirm Setting:
- Live Personal Brokerage Accounts: Users trading their own live capital through NinjaTrader Brokerage, Tradovate, or AMP where prop firm drawdown rules do not exist.
- Unlisted Prop Firms: Users trading with newer or boutique funding companies whose evaluation targets and daily loss limits do not match the standard industry tiers hardcoded into Gideon.
- Highly Customized ProFunded Scaling: Funded traders who want to aggressively override the built-in ProFunded safety scaling and dictate their exact daily risk/reward metrics manually.
