Today has been a very exciting and interesting day for me. I’ve just re-discovered a great little technique that helps you develop self-confidence. If you remember from a few posts back, Napoleon Hill mentions that self-confidence is one of the key ingredients for success. In fact, Hill included it as the second chapter in “The Law Of Success”. So, it must have been pretty important.
Now, I’d like to share this formula with you again, but first, I have a little story for you…
A few days ago I was reading Mark Joyner’s fantastic book called “The Irresistible Offer”. And tell you what, if you are really serious about being successful in business, I would strongly recommend you read his book.
Inside the book, Joyner talks about one occasion at a seminar, where he asked the audience of around 600 people whether they have read the book called “Think and Grow Rich”. Of course, about 90 percent of the audience raised their hands. So then he asked all of those people to stand up.
Next, he asked how many of them remembered the part where Hill talks about developing self-confidence. And about 99% of the audience raised their hands. All of those people who couldn’t remember the story, he then instructed to sit down. Then he asked how many of them have actually memorized the formula for self-confidence (as was instructed by Hill) and if they had not memorized it, to please sit down.
Guess what happened?
Everybody sat down! Not one single person remained standing.
In a way this is not too surprising if you look at the world around us. If you look at the majority of people (as in 95 percent probably) you’ll notice that they don’t actually implement what they learn. Of course this can be fatal to your success. And Mark Joyner clearly illustrated that point during his seminar.
Now, I actually wanted to tell you about the self-confidence formula for this post. So here goes…
If you’ve seen it before, you know what I’m talking about.
But here’s my question: Have you actually memorized it, and have you followed the instructions, to the letter, as Hill instructs on those pages of his book? If not, here is another chance for you. Here is the exact same wording used by Hill:
#######################
First: I know I have the ability to achieve the objective of my definite purpose in life, therefore, I demand of myself, persistent, continuous action toward its attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.
Second: I realize that the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physically reality, therefore, I will concentrate my mind for 30 minutes daily, upon the task of thinking about the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.
Third: I know through the principle of autosuggestion, any desire I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object back of it, therefore I will devote 10 minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of SELF-CONFIDENCE.
Fourth: I have clearly written down a description of my DEFINTE CHIEF AIM in life, and I will never stop trying, until I shall have developed sufficient self-confidence for its attainment.
Fifth: I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure, unless built on truth and justice, therefore, I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward another can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them, and in myself.
I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it aloud once a day, with full FAITH that it will gradually influence my THOUGHTS and ACTIONS so that I will become a self-reliant, and successful person.

Now, here is my challenge to you. Start memorizing the text above right now, say it out loud every single day, and start seeing the dramatic growth in your self-confidence. I mean, if Hill, who took 20 years to put together this amazing philosophy, tell you that it works, it’s at least worth a go! You’ve got nothing to lose.
I remember the first time I tried it. I could see a dramatic increase in my self-confidence, even after only a few days! So it was a nice refresher to look at this brilliant formula for creating self confidence again. I must admit, I’ve been neglecting it a bit lately, but I’m all fired up about it again now.
Print this post out right now, stick it on your wall where you can see it all the time, and start memorizing this amazingly powerful formula for developing self confidence in your life.
Talk soon!

PS: I’m thinking about putting together a video series entitled, “The 7 Deadly Mistakes Business Owners Make in Marketing Their Businesses and How You Can Avoid Them.” Would you be interested in that kind of information at all? If so, leave a comment on this post.
